How Does It Work?

Hydrocarbons are the main compounds consisting of oil spills. When these organic compounds come into contact with AquaGuard 250, a significant surface tension reaction is initiated. This results in organic components taking the maximum surface area on the surface of the water. The larger surface area of the oil implies that the rate of evaporation of these pollutants will increase and thus the degradation rate will also increase.

 

When the WaterRem formula comes into contact with the organic compounds, the cohesive forces within the molecules are significantly reduced. As a result, the surface tension of the water in relation to oil, (oil-water interface force) is greatly reduced, resulting in oil molecules spreading on the surface of the water column. The oil is broken down into tiny droplets that spread over a large surface area, and through the action of solar rays, it evaporates at a faster-than-normal rate.

 

In the case of organic sediment, the mechanism at the very early stage alters the organic compounds to liquid form and then evaporates.

  • It breaks the hydrocarbon chains

Another way AquaGuard 250 facilitates the marine environment cleanup process is through the breakdown. Microbes accelerate the rate of natural degradation of the small oil droplets created after the dispersion. The evaporation and the natural degradation of the spill results in an immediate reduction in the concentration of the oil-AquaGuard 250 mix, as is the case with organic oil solutions such as Arabian crude oil. In the case of organic sediments such as TPH(total petroleum hydrocarbons), the AquaGuard 250 formula at the early stages converts the organic sediments to liquid form and then facilitates their dispersion and evaporation.
